In this course you will have your first meeting with Cacao, and get the foundational knowledge about how and why to work with this medicine, so that you can begin the relationship with Cacao in a really grounded and informed way.
We will have a nice balance of information and practical application so that you can get a feel for the process as we go along.
And, if you already have a relationship and practice with Cacao but would like to round your knowledge, you are very welcome to join us as well.

WHAT IS CACAO?
Cacao is a beautiful heart-opening and soul-connecting medicine; the pure, unaltered form of chocolate!
Cacao is an ancient Heart Medicine and teacher plant that helps you to drop past the mind and into the Heart. She relaxes the nervous system, and helps you to access your inner world from a place of heart-centred focus and relaxation. From this state of being you have access to the parts of yourself that are ready to be seen, loved, and worked with.
Cacao's number one job is to open your heart!
Cacao ceremonies are a space for you to open to more self love and compassion and allow Cacao to show you messages from within that are trying to show you where you can open more; what is ready to be released; and how you can love yourself more, exactly as you are.
She can help you release old patterns of conditioning; emotional, physical and mental blocks that no longer serve; and welcome in more joy, more love and more magic in their place.... More of you!
During this course we will cover:
Week 1:
Precautions on who Cacao may not be suitable for, and how to alter doses depending on different conditions
How to make the perfect cup
The origins of Cacao as a medicine and how it became chocolate as we know it today
The different doses and how much to take, as well as what kind of activities she works well with
How to create your sacred space, set intention and begin your journey with Cacao
Week 2:
The energetic makeup of Cacao and why it is such a great assist for spiritual practices
Different types of Cacao and what makes it ceremonial grade
How ceremonial Cacao is processed to keep the energetic integrity
How it came to be so widespread in the world
How and why we use this medicine for spiritual/creative practices
Week 3
The different ways Cacao may show up within you on physical/energetic/emotional/mental levels
How to connect to her on a deeper level and form a beautiful relationship with the Cacao spirit
How to work with the messages coming from within through her guidance
Heart work & meditations to make big shifts into a more heart-centred vibration
Week 4
A full Cacao Ceremony as our closing circle.
We will finish with a full Cacao ceremony where you will get the chance to ask questions, share how your exploration has been and dive into working with some of the messages she has been bringing you during the course.
In each session we will have some time for information and some time for applying that knowledge through meditation.

Hi, I’m Paula. I have been working with Cacao since 2011 under the guidance of Keith Wilson (The Chocolate Shaman), and have been holding regular ceremonies and Cacao events since 2015. I am really passionate about inner work and transformation, and love sharing the power of Cacao to open hearts and help accelerate the process of awakening. I am a Keith’s Cacao practitioner, Calmology coach, PSYCH-K® facilitator, Reiki master and Yoga and meditation teacher (800+hrs RYT)

CAUTIONS
Cacao is a superfood, a beautiful healing medicine and one of the best things you can put in your body, but there are some instances where you would need to go a little gentler with it. Please get in touch if you have questions about any of the following:
**ANTI-DEPRESSANTS**
The MAOIs in cacao can interact with some anti-depressant medication so research your prescription or ask your doctor if your medication would interact. It's not dangerous, just unpleasant as it can cause a migraine. Let me know if you're taking any as you may need to alter your dose, but you can absolutely still join.
**PREGNANCY/BREASTFEEDING**
Cacao is safe and really good for developing babies but your dose may need to be lowered, depending on the stage so let me know if that applies to you.
**HEART CONDITIONS**
Cacao increases your heart rate 20-30% so if this would be a problem for you let me know and I will advise you how to alter your dose. It's an amazing heart medicine but you may need to start slower with it.
